Become a judo movie hero! (22 Apr 2013) Share your judo story, help others! You are a professional athlete or you do judo for pleasure, but for you judo is not just a sport, but a philosophy, a life orientation. Judo formed you as a person and taught you to live. Then this contest is for you! Share your story with those who still can choose the path in life. The European Judo Union will create a documentary film about the lives of people for whom judo is more than a sport. If judo made you happy, overcame life's difficulties, taught you to feel needed and motivated you to help those in need, then send us your stories. Write your life story where judo gave you the red line in life and send it by e-mail including a photo, or even pictures linked to the story: judostory@eju.net Our film crew will visit the characters with the brightest destiny and they personally will be able to tell about the way of living. 15 December ECCO Judo Hero Challenge in Tyumen (8 Dec 2012) At the 15th of December one of the top athletes, Musa Mogushkov, will face best judoka at his home arena Tyumen-Judo in Tyumen, Russia. Mogushkov was one of the most expected medallists at London Olympics and his failure was a real strike for himself and most of Russian judo fans. He was really knocked out with his misfortune. But the ability to stand up after a big hit defines a real judo superstar among others. The Ecco Judo Hero Challenge will be a real challenge for Mogushkov. The line-up who will undertake his challenge: > Lasha Shavdatuashvili of Georgia: 2012 Olympic Champion > Miklos Ungvari of Hungary: Silver medallist of the London Olympic Games > Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar of Mongolia: former World champion in this category > Sugoi Uriarte of Spain: silver medallist of the 2009 world championship and 2010 European Champion > Tarlan Karimov of Azerbaijan: 2011 European silver medallist > Rok Draksic of Slovenia: 2012 European championship bronze medallist > Sergey Lim of Kazakhstan: 2012 Asian champion > Musa Mogushkov was bronze medallist of the 2011 World Championships and until June 2012 the Leader in the World Ranking U66kg. Prize money of 60,000 euro In a new Olympic cycle these judoka will start all over again. Ecco company supported the initiative of the European Judo Union and awarded a magnificent prize money.
